6 Tractor Trucks and 6 Trailers to Djibouti — HOWO Special Truck Export Successful Delivery | Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Export

In February 2026, we successfully delivered a complete fleet package consisting of 6 HOWO tractor trucks and 6 matching flatbed semi-trailers to a freight forwarding company in Djibouti City. This turnkey solution provides the customer with everything needed to begin immediate cargo operations at one of Africa's busiest and most strategically important ports.

Djibouti's strategic location at the crossroads of one of the world's busiest shipping routes — controlling access to the Red Sea and Suez Canal — makes it a critical logistics hub for East Africa and the Horn of Africa region. Our customer provides container and general cargo transportation services between Djibouti Port and destinations in Ethiopia, Somalia, Somaliland, and other Horn of Africa countries along some of the continent's most challenging transport corridors.

We supplied HOWO 380HP 6x4 tractor trucks with the HW76 extended cabin, providing comfortable accommodation for drivers on long cross-border journeys where rest facilities are limited. Each truck is equipped with air conditioning essential for Djibouti's extreme desert climate where summer temperatures regularly exceed 45°C, power windows, and a sleeper berth — critical features for drivers operating multi-day routes between Djibouti and Addis Ababa.

The matching 40-foot flatbed trailers feature 3-axle configurations with ISO-standard container locks for both 20-foot and 40-foot container handling, making them versatile for the mix of containerized and breakbulk cargo that flows through Djibouti Port. The trailers are rated for 60-ton capacity and feature WABCO ABS braking systems for maximum safety when descending the steep and winding mountainous roads connecting Djibouti to the Ethiopian highlands, where gradients can exceed 8%.

As a complete fleet package, we ensured perfect compatibility between all tractor trucks and trailers, with standardized coupling systems, uniform specifications for simplified maintenance and spare parts management, and consistent driver training requirements. The customer received a unified fleet ready for immediate deployment without the compatibility issues that often arise when mixing equipment from different suppliers.

Our logistics team coordinated the simultaneous shipment of all 12 units via Ro-Ro vessel from Shanghai Port to Djibouti Port, minimizing delivery time and ensuring the fleet arrived together for coordinated commissioning. We also provided on-site technical support during the unloading and initial setup process. This Djibouti delivery exemplifies our capability to provide complete fleet solutions for African logistics operators. Contact us for your turnkey truck and trailer fleet requirements.
