The Congo customer operates an open-pit copper mine near Kolwezi in the Lualaba Province and required a fleet of dump trucks capable of transporting 25-30 tons of copper ore over unpaved mining roads with steep gradients and deep ruts. Each HOWO TX dump truck is powered by a 371HP WD615 turbocharged diesel engine, paired with a robust 10-speed manual transmission and reinforced drive axles designed for continuous heavy-duty operation. The 16-ton rear axle and heavy-duty multi-leaf suspension system are specifically engineered to handle the extreme loads and rough terrain typical of Central African mining operations, where roads are often no more than compacted earth tracks.

The 18 cubic meter U-shaped cargo box features a special wear-resistant manganese steel lining to extend service life when transporting abrasive copper ore materials. The hydraulic tipping system achieves a full lift cycle in under 20 seconds, maximizing operational efficiency at the mine site where every minute of uptime counts toward productivity targets.

Our company provided comprehensive support throughout the procurement process, including factory inspection visits, technical consultations with their mining engineers, and logistics coordination for the challenging DRC delivery route. The entire fleet was shipped via Ro-Ro vessel from Tianjin Port to Durban, South Africa, then transported overland through Zambia to the mining site in DRC — a journey of over 3,000 kilometers.
