HOWO Special Truck Sales is excited to announce that production of the new Goldhofer SPT (Self-Propelled Transporter) modular trailer series has officially commenced at our specialized trailer manufacturing facility. This cutting-edge product line represents a significant advancement in heavy and oversized cargo transportation technology.
The Goldhofer SPT modular trailer system is designed for transporting loads exceeding 1,000 tons, making it ideal for heavy machinery, power plant components, bridge sections, offshore structures, and other oversized industrial equipment. The modular design allows customers to configure axle lines from 4 to over 200 wheels depending on payload requirements.
Advanced Hydraulic Suspension Technology
Each SPT module features an independent hydraulic pendulum axle system that provides exceptional stability and maneuverability. The hydraulic suspension offers 600mm of axle lift, enabling the trailer to traverse uneven terrain while maintaining a level platform for the cargo. Individual wheel steering provides a turning radius of just 3 meters per axle line, allowing navigation through confined spaces.
The hydraulic power pack system delivers precise control over lifting, steering, and driving functions. Operators can control the entire trailer system from a remote console, with real-time feedback on load distribution, axle pressures, and steering angles. This level of control is essential for safely transporting ultra-heavy cargoes.
Modular Configurations
The Goldhofer SPT system consists of three core module types: Power Pack Modules (PPM) with integrated diesel engines, Trailer Modules (TM) for load support, and Drop Deck Modules for reduced loading heights. These modules can be combined in virtually unlimited configurations to meet specific transportation requirements.
Standard axle lines are available in 2-axle (8-wheel) and 3-axle (12-wheel) configurations, each rated for 30 tons per axle line. The modular connection system allows rapid assembly and disassembly in the field, with experienced crews able to reconfigure a 100-wheel trailer in under 4 hours.
Electronic Control and Monitoring
The SPT series features a state-of-the-art electronic control system with CAN-BUS communication between all modules. The central controller continuously monitors and adjusts hydraulic pressures, wheel angles, and drive torques to optimize stability and traction. An integrated GPS tracking system provides real-time location monitoring and route optimization.
Safety features include automatic load distribution monitoring, anti-rollover protection, emergency braking systems, and redundant hydraulic circuits. The control software includes pre-programmed maneuver routines for common operations such as sharp turns, incline traversal, and load transfer.
Applications and Market Response
Since announcing the Goldhofer SPT production launch, we have received strong interest from heavy haulage operators worldwide. Primary applications include wind turbine component transportation, transformer relocation, mining equipment moves, and infrastructure construction projects.
Initial orders include a 48-axle line configuration for a European heavy transport company and a 24-axle system for an Australian mining services provider. We expect strong demand from the Middle East and African markets where large-scale infrastructure projects are driving demand for specialized heavy haulage equipment.
